" Something went Wrong"
"Something had gone wrong"

What are the differences in the meaning of above sentences?

Would be grateful for answers.

The difference is the tense, and that depends on the structure of the story you are telling.
An event that happened in the past requires the simple past, whereas a story being told about the past, and referring to something that happened before that, requires the past perfect. It all depends on the context, the story you are telling.

What happened is exactly the same. What is different is how you tell the story.

An example:

He was sending a post at 2 am and something went wrong.
(it went wrong at 2 am.)

He was sending a post at 2 am. Something had gone wrong at midnight, but it was OK at 2 am.
(it went wrong earlier than 2 am) 2 am is in the past. Midnight is even further in the past.
