Read these words of encouragement when you need help seeing the opportunity in the struggle or uncovering the hidden meaning in the mess. When life feels like a big ball of chaos, theres something here for you.

Words of Encouragement When You're Stressed Out to the Max

1. Storms dont last forever.

This too shall pass and just as life changes again and again, so will you. Let yourself fall into the ebb and flow of your journey without the need to grasp onto any one part of it. Fall into yourself and let expectation go.

2. You can change your life by changing what you whisper to yourself every day.

The words you think and speak to yourself on a daily basismore so than what is said to other peopleis what holds the greatest power for transformation, growth, and happiness.

3. You dont need anyones permission to be happy or have a good day.

The only person guaranteed to be by your side for the rest of your life is you.The only standards you need to live up to are your own, and youre allowed to alter those standards any time you please.

When you love your own decisions, you can honor the opinions of others without living by them.

4. Youre a work of art and a work in progress all at once.

Its 100% OK and healthy and even necessary to change because youre evolving into the best version of yourself. Let yourself shed unwanted layers without judgment. Every step youve taken so far has been a necessary part of your path.

5. Your personal success and happiness arent based on other peoples opinions.

The expectations of others are not worth your own health and happiness, so allow yourself to be comfortable in your own way. Try spending more time with people who keep you calm, smiling, and at ease with being totally yourself.

6. You have the power to choose one thought over another.

This is your greatest defense against stress in this world, and its a powerful one.

The choices you make right now (not yesterday) shape your tomorrow. Release identification with negative thoughts and challenge yourself to think of potential solutions to the problem. Look for reasons to smile instead of reasons to be offended. Look for reasons to be thankful instead of reasons to be stressed.

Don't curse the storm, for a flower needs both sunshine and rain to help it grow.

7. The rest is still unwritten.

There is hardly anything thats guaranteed to any of us in the future. The present moment is everything and deserves our full attention and energy. Focus less on how everything went wrong, and get determined about whats going right, right now.

The quality of your life, in the long run, is directly affected by how you choose to live your life right now.

8. You dont always get what you want, but you get what you need to grow.

Be intentional about what you do and why youre doing it. Give life your best shot and show up completely, and then be okay with things turning out differently than you had planned.

You're strong enough to do that.

Sometimes, we dont get what we want, how we wanted it, when and where we wanted it, but somehow it ends up being exactly what we needed (and sometimes we dont know how we needed it until much later).

9. The grass is greener where its watered.

Stop comparing and complaining, and start watering the grass thats underneath your own feet. You live underneath the same sky as everyone else. If you see beauty in other peoples lives and not your own, bless them and start bringing beauty into your own space.

What you bless in others you water within yourself.

10. Not a single human is totally immune to problems, challenges, or stress.

Build your immunity to stress by thinking joyful thoughts, seeking help and accepting it, finding new ways to serve others, hugging the people you love, trusting your intuition, strengthening your trust in the process of life, and focusing on the good in your life.

11. Sometimes you need to be strong, and other times you just dont.

Its okay not to be okay and its okay not to feel strong. Let go of the idea that strong is what you always need to be, and just let yourself be whatever you feel like you need to be.

Sometimes you just need to relax, take a deep breath, have a sense of humor, talk to a good friend, drink some tea, write in your journal whatever feels right. Theres no one right answer to feeling better; sometimes there are many.

Sometimes, strength means being soft in a hard world.

12. You can choose to be happy regardless of your circumstances.

Yes, its nice to have good things happen to us and, as a result, its easier to be in a good mood. The real life-changing decision is to be at peace on the inside no matter what happens on the outside; this is how true, deep, lasting happiness is solidified.

Its not easy or straightforward, but that doesn't mean it should be ignored.

. . .
