What (more) do you want me to say?
A phrase used to emphasize the fact that one is unable to explain or excuse something any further. Used especially when one apologizes for something. A: "And then you just took the money without asking?" B: "It was a dumb, selfish thing to do, and I'm sorry! What more do you want me to say?" What do you want me to say, boss? We screwed up, and we lost the account.
